We continue to work on the two home repair sites we have been working on this week. The site in Cabin Creek is oh so close to finishing. Tomorrow is the day! The same can be said about the site in Oceana. The whole structure of the porch, including the railings and roof is complete, now we just need to put on the roofing materials to keep everything dry.
For the third site, we had a group of PVs go down to St. Vincent DePaul and power-wash the outside of the building. The building has white sidings and sits not far off a busy road, so the building could use a good scrub down. Complicating matters previously was a broken water pipe, but earlier in the summer another group of PVs fixed that. The building looked great when it was finished.
Breakfast was on the menu for dinner tonight. Pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, french toast, taylor ham (brought from New Jersey), scrambled eggs and orange juice. Scrumptious!
Reflection tonight was on how the PV experience has affected us emotionally and how that has changed us. Once again it was led by the younger PVs and we were all in awe.
