“The chemist who can extract from his heart’s elements compassion, respect, longing, patience, regret, surprise, and forgiveness and compound them into one can create that atom which is called love.”
Khalil Gibran
The weather has definitely been drier this week, but with that it has been much warmer and humid. The dry weather has definitely helped with progressing on sites. Work continues up in Cabin Creek on the ramp. It always seems like the last few pieces take the longest to finish up!
Work also continued in Oceana building the porch and porch roof. Tomorrow we will pretty much be ready for the construction of the roof and then the installation of the rubber. The home owners seem pleased with the work.
As with Tuesday’s past, volunteers went next door to the council on aging for some visiting time, and today they got to play bingo as well. Is sounds like it was a fun time for volunteers and the participants. After grabbing a quick lunch, the volunteers went to St. Vincent DePaul to help with sorting clothes and organizing furniture.
Tonight was Taco Tuesday!!! Dinner was a delicious Mexican feast with all the fixings. We had dessert after dinner that was an ice cream bar, again with all the fixings. Yum, yum!
Tonight for reflection we spent time reflecting on sharing how we have changed since becoming a PV. It is always great to hear how the program has impacted each volunteer.
