Throwing it back to 2010 and the PV Basketball Camp held in Hanover, Wyoming County, WV. PV John Paul ran these free professional basketball camps for the kids in the area each summer for many years. This Saturday, John Paul is holding a fundraiser for the PVs in the form of a Poker Tourney in East Hanover, NJ. We aren’t throwing it back too far because I want to spotlight the PVs in Seattle yesterday who spent the day working with OSL. They helped to prepare 1,200 meals that were distributed throughout the city, as well helped to service lunch to a couple of hundred people at the Outdoor Meal Site under the freeway. Thank you to all who participated!!!

This past Sunday, there was a wonderful “ Live with Passion” open house in the Seattle area. The gathering was a fundraiser for the PVs, an information session on volunteering and a socks, toiletries and hat drive for a local organization, “Shower to the People.”
Even though the Seahawks threw a wrench in the plans by changing their game time to exactly coincide with the gathering, we still had about 30 people come bearing desserts and finger foods to share. Several of the people who came have volunteered during the PV Week in the spring, as well as well as our PV service days in Seattle. We also had one of our long-time West Virginia volunteers who is now living near by stop in. (Hi Jack!!!)
Thank you so much to everyone who came on Sunday and to those who couldn’t be there in person but supported by a donation. More than $1,800 was raised and it will go directly to our programs, helping those in need!!
