The PV shower sign up. With only 3 shower stalls this summer, the volunteers ideas of simple living have been tested.

A group shot of a work crew after a long day of work

PVs installing a new Ondura roof

It takes a team effort!

Not sure if these guys are on a roof or stand in the middle of a field….

Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, something you give away.

Robert Fulghum

I’m getting closer to uploading more pictures, but due to some computer glitches it was slow going today. It looks like tomorrow will be the day…

Last night we had a beautiful reflection on our calling to be volunteers. It was wonderful to hear what brought each of us into the program and into service.

Today we continued on all the same home repair sites as yesterday. There is so much to do at each site that it is taking awhile to complete, but they are all progressing nicely.

This morning we also had tutoring with four kids from the school. They all seem to be having a great time learning and by the looks of it, having a lot of fun. The volunteers too!

Dinner tonight (really a breakfast meal) was yummy, yummy! We had an egg casserole, fruit salad and blueberry muffins. To top off the meal we were treated to ice cream sundaes!

To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.

Sorry for the lack of posts the last few days. Early Saturday morning we headed up to Reading, PA for Patrick and Katie’s wedding. I will try and post a few pictures tomorrow. We got home late yesterday afternoon and are still trying to play catch up with everything.

Today’s sites were spread out across the whole county. We continued working in Simon and Lynco, and started working out in Stevenson and in Mullens. All these sites will be continuing into tomorrow. I’ll give more detailed info on the work tomorrow.

We also started the Pineville Basketball Camp today. Just like soccer camp, the numbers are already at record levels. There were 23 kids at the morning session and 10 at the afternoon session. We are looking forward to another great week with Coach D!

Sorry for the short update, but tomorrow I am going to spend some time uploading pictures from last week.
